  1. A limpet is any of various marine snails 
  2. belonging to several families and genera, 
  3. especially Acmaea and Patella. A limpet has a 
  4. conical shell and adheres firmly to rocks by 
  5. its disclike foot. Limpets leave their fixed 
  6. positions only to graze on seaweeds, always 
  7. returning to the same spot.
